About The Business of Diving Institute

We’re passionate about going beyond the passion for scuba diving!

The Business of Diving Institute (BODI) was created shortly after Darcy purchased his first dive center as a sideline. At the time, he was in charge of sales for the largest division of a multi-billion dollar international transport company with vast staff training resources, and he could not comprehend the lack of training programs available to his dive store and dive training staff.

Plenty of dive certification agencies were eager to show his team how to remove and replace a mask underwater. Still, nobody provided customer service training — or any other staff training — tailored to the dive industry. It is to address this problem that BODI was born.

The Business of Diving Institute and Darcy Kieran publish two online publications: Scubanomics for dive professionals and Scuba Diver Press for scuba divers, snorkelers, and tankless diving adepts.
